Improvised Music from Japan / Takefumi Naoshima

Born in Japan in 1981, Takefumi Naoshima began giving live performances with a mixing board in 2001. Through his improvised work using minimal volume, which challenges the limitations of human ears, his area of concern has changed to people's recognition and interpretation of the (musical) act and performance, more than the sound itself. Ninzu, a duo with Takahiro Hirama, is one of Naoshima's main projects. He founded the CD-R label Encadre, which has released discs by Naoshima himself as well as other artists. His co-leader CD, Septet, was released in 2007 on Meenna.
